Scheduling Time Off During an Internship
We encourage students to establish a summer schedule that will allow them to take full advantage of their internship experience. We recommend against taking a second job or loading up your summer schedule with camps and extra classes. Days off must be negotiated with the mentor, as well as approved by the ASE Staff in advance.
We recommend that interns do not schedule vacations exceeding one week in length during the internship itself. Long vacations can disrupt both the student's experience, as well as the mentor's work. Vacations greater than one week in length must be approved by the ASE Director before the start of the internship. Vacations should not conflict with the Midsummer Conference or the ASE Symposium (including preparation time for the Symposium). All vacations must be approved by the student's mentor.
