Essay and Interview Skills Workshops
Workshop Details:
All of the workshops will allow you to have a better understanding about the ASE program. An ASE representative will attend each workshop. Plus, you will get to meet other students who are interested in STEM careers from the area.
Workshop space is limited, therefore please only sign up if you are certain that you can attend the workshop you choose. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you sign up that will include a copy of your registration, directions to the class, and will also give you information if you need to cancel your workshop registration. If you submit the workshop registration form twice, ASE staff will automatically disregard your first registration form submittal.
Essay Writing Workshop:
It is recommended that you bring a draft of your essay(s) to the workshop in order to fully utilize the workshop. During the Essay Workshop you will learn how to make your essays more professional and competitive.
Interview Skills Workshop:
During the Interview Workshop you will learn valuable interviewing skills and build your confidence for future interviews. The workshop will focus on tips and frequently asked questions, along with practice interviews.
What to bring:
Please make sure to arrive a few minutes early for the workshop. Please bring a notebook and a writing utensil to take notes, and if you wish, for the Essay Writing workshop bring along any essays that you have drafted.
We are only able to offer these workshops in the Portland and Corvallis areas this year. If you are unable to attend the workshops, please read the essay and interview guides below.
