Saturday Academy and the Micro-Enterprise Inventor’s Program of Oregon
are teaming up to host the Oregon Inventor's Showcase. The showcase,
which will be open to the general public, will highlight the importance
of invention to Oregon's future and the wide variety of invention that
is being done in our community every day.
Approximately 140 6-9th grade students who are currently taking "Inventor's Academy" classes with Saturday Academy will participate in the showcase, along with the four current Oregon High School Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams (see below for details on InvenTeams).
This event will be co-hosted with the Micro-Enterprise Inventor's Program of Oregon (MIPO), a Lemelson Foundation-funded
program that works with adult inventors. MIPO will have approximately
20 inventors exhibiting at the event, as well as some demonstrations
and workshops.
Other supporters of this event include Portland State University's Lab2Market Initiative.
