The Future of Work: Skills Students Need Today to Ensure They Are Relevant in a Rapidly Changing World
Keynote Speaker, The Bald Futurist, Steve Brown
Join us and hundreds of friends to enjoy a fun-filled luncheon to celebrate Saturday Academy. On March 5, 2020, we will bring the community together at the Oregon Zoo to reflect on our impact.
Saturday Academy provides wide access to hands-on learning for diverse students in grades 2-12 in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Since 1983, as Oregon’s leading STEM nonprofit, our community experts have sparked curiosity and a love of learning in young people. Our vision is that all interested, pre-college students in our region will have the opportunity to interact with community experts and experience professional environments in ways that assist them in developing intellectually and preparing for rewarding careers. We emphasize STEM, because these fields are critical for the future of our children’s careers and their fast pace of change is difficult to address in traditional school settings. Our classes, camps, workshops and internships assist students in building the skills for the careers of tomorrow. We have provided instruction to more than 190,000 students throughout Oregon and SW Washington. The Discovery Luncheon raises critical funds for Saturday Academy.
WHEN: Thursday, March 5, 2020, 11:30 am (social time), Luncheon 12 pm - 1 pm.
WHERE: Oregon Zoo, Cascade Crest Ballroom
COST: $50 per guest
