Karen Wolfgang is a life-long Portlander, with an undergraduate degree in anthropology and environmental studies from Princeton University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. Karen is passionate about sustainability and supporting people to create relationships with their natural and built environments. An expert in gardening, Karen uses the chemical properties of plants to make tinctures and useful creations.
She is the adoptive mom of two kids with special needs, has worked with various aspects of neurodiversity, and has training in trauma-informed engagement, collaborative problem-solving, and mediation. For fun, Karen hangs out with her kids (10 and 12), walks her dogs, and reads a lot.
She is currently available to teach on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Karen has been teaching with Saturday Academy since 2018 and teaches Climate Action Teams, Emergency Preparedness and Chemistry Potions.
