Visitors from the future have landed with new teleidoscopes that allow you to see and reimagine the future. What do you see? What if you changed one thing today, how would that affect the future? People today are working on a future of autonomous vehicles, clean energy systems, plant-based plastics, improved healthcare technologies, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture and data analysis with artificial intelligence… In brain development or fractals, one small change modifies everything. If you changed one thing today, how could that affect the future? Play with change, change the future.
Advanced subject matter taught by virtual visiting experts will promote in-depth exploration, active inquiry, discussion and problem based learning. This camp is for curious nerds who want to learn!
Students who register by May 30th will receive a survey link to gather a list of science-tech-engineering-art-math type problems they would like to advance a solution toward. This survey will go out to registered students mid June. Saturday Academy will compile a list of problem topics, and students who registers by June 15th will have a chance to vote on their top 3 topics. Students can expect this survey in late June. Experts in the problem field will then be invited to join the class virtually to guide students in designing a solution. THE VOTES ARE IN, the overarching theme of 2021 will be BIODIVERSITY!
We are committed to making it possible for all students to participate in classes regardless of financial circumstances. Class tuition is charged on a sliding scale based on annual household income and family size. There is no application. Click here to learn more about Tuition Assistance.
