Learn why the majority of biologists believe 50% of Earth’s species will be extinct by 2100, why it’s important to address biodiversity loss and what can be done to prevent it. From sea turtles to wolves, get a local view of cutting-edge conservation science and plan to make a difference. Explore solutions to problems facing many plant and animal species around the world and research a thoughtful plan to help conserve a species of your choice.
This class is inspired in part by Conservation Biologist Dr. Jane Goodall, and will include excerpts from her life’s work:
Field trips include checking wildlife cameras and surveying for rare tracks of endangered species like the wolverine, wolf, and montane red fox. Data collected will be used by Mt. Hood National Forest and Cascadia Wild.
