The mission of Saturday Academy is to develop creative, confident, and curious critical thinkers by engaging students in socially conscious and equitable Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math experiences. We spark curiosity, connect our community, and empower students to become the innovative thinkers and problem-solvers of the next generation. Saturday Academy is an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Instructors should either have classroom experience or bring their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), real-world expertise, and awareness of potential careers to students.
Do you want to pass down your passion for STEAM to the next generation, but you are not an experienced teacher? We provide resources and professional development workshops to prepare you to be successful. We also recommend volunteering as a Classroom Assistant in our classes to gain experience and confidence.
Additionally, we are looking for individuals who have classroom experience and a passion for teaching STEAM-themed classes. We can provide curriculum resources or we can pay you to design your own.
As a Saturday Academy instructor you will teach a project-based, age-appropriate class, engaging your students and inspiring their curiosity. Instructors prepare class materials and lesson plans, with the support of SA staff. Close coordination and communication with Saturday Academy staff is essential to ensure your class technology and supply needs are met.
