The Technical Training Center team provides training opportunities to Bonneville Power Administration workforce members from around the region, including Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington State. Training is either provided to people at their job sites through the online courses or in person for people who travel to the training center. The interns selected for this position will work with BPA’s Technical Training Center team to assist in building technical training eLearning courses by developing graphics and animation that are used to illustrate electrical trade theory concepts. The interns will use online software tools to animate circuits and diagrams to make the Center's subjects more engaging to our online and classroom learners. The outcome of their work will become part of the training program in the future. The interns will also have the opportunity to participate in electrical labs in the trade theory classroom; learn electrical trade concepts; take tours of various facilities; and be able to come into contact and interview people from a variety of different electrical trade positions. This broad scope of contact with people will enable the interns to really see what goes on behind the light switch and better determine which field of interest they will be interested in pursuing in the future. Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (including PowerPoint, Word and Excel). Experience with programs such as Photoshop, SnagIt, Visio, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects would be helpful but not required. The interns will come away with skills in a variety of graphic and development software programs. Students from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply for this position.
