Photography is a powerful way to discover and reflect the world around us. Learn the fundamentals of photography. Begin with the basics of camera set up and operation. Explore composition, exposure and what makes a photograph interesting. Prepare your images for sharing in the form of an online book! Head outside each day to practice making photos! Explore how to enhance your images by using techniques such as symmetry, texture and perspective. This class is great for kids new to photography as well as those who would like to learn how to use their DSLR camera to get creative.
By week's end students will create an online photo book on Blurb using the Bookwright design tool. Students will need an email address to set up a Blurb account. Blurb also offers the option to order and purchase the photo book after the conclusion of class.
"I am so happy that I had the opportunity to take this class. I have never felt like I have done something that I might want to make into a career for the rest of my life until now. I will definitely continue photography, and maybe even make it my career." - Izzyie, Saturday Academy Student
(A DSLR camera is highly encouraged for class but any camera including phones are welcome. If using a phone please bring the proper cord to upload photos from your device to the computer.)
