Announcing our 2025 ASE Cohort!

Jun 16, 2025

For 36 years, the Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE) Program has been dedicated to providing high school students with transformative hands-on learning experiences. This year, we are continuing this work with newfound zeal. We are thinking more consciously about how the ASE Program experience fits into the rapidly changing world that these students are growing into. This summer, our theme is Powered by Curiosity, Grounded in Purpose.

ASE interns have followed their curiosity towards their chosen internship, in which they will gain valuable technical skills and hands-on professional experience. However, the ASE experience is more than just an internship; we foster personal growth by encouraging students to ask questions, form community, and develop their inner compass. We hope for students to cultivate their own sense of purpose – their passions and values – which we believe are integral to a fulfilling career.

Towards this goal, we are offering programming that will encourage students to articulate their values, think critically about labor and class, and consider the broader impacts of their work. Whether a student is studying Biomedical Science or Applied Ecology, Generative AI or Renewable Energy, they are united by their desire to make a difference in the world. The ASE Program is honored to have a role in preparing these young people for the future.
