This year, learning looks different. For most, due to COVID-19, learning now takes place entirely at home. Like many schools in Oregon and across the country, Saturday Academy has pivoted completely to online classes. Our classes team has worked hard to schedule our classes around the various school days across the Portland-metro area. We hope to be able to ease educational gaps students may experience this school year. If class timing is a barrier, please let us know! Community based organizations and parents may also request classes for groups of 6-12 students through SA2U.
For the fall, we are offering several new classes alongside some fan-favorites! New to our catalog are math study groups for Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. If you have an interest in the medical field, join the Association of Women Surgeons OHSU medical student chapter for an introduction to different specialties in Careers in Medicine. Web Design Using Bootstrap and JavaScript is also a newcomer to our catalog! Students will learn how to create interactive web pages with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
If you happened to miss some of your favorite classes in the summer, many of them are returning. Comic Book & Graphic Novel, Programming in Python for Beginners, Blender: Intro to 3D Modeling, Neurology & Neuroscience, Character Drawing: Basic Geometry, and Write for Success will be available this fall. Additionally, if your student is looking for something spooky for the season, Eerie Neuroscience is back this year in an online format on Halloween day.
A few of our classes are now live and open to registrations! Check out Math Connections, Study Skills, and Programming in Python for Beginners today or check back on September 9th for more of our fall online offerings.
