Tuition Assistance

Every child deserves the opportunity to follow their curiosity!

Saturday Academy is committed to making it possible for all students to participate in classes regardless of financial circumstances. Class tuition is charged on a sliding scale based on annual household income and number of dependents. There is no application. Register for a class, and use the online calculator to automatically reduce tuition from 10% up to 85%. The process is confidential and takes about 5 minutes.

Saturday Academy provides $100,000 in tuition assistance annually. Funding is provided by our generous donors which include individuals and organizations committed to providing educational opportunities for students in Oregon and SW Washington.

Who is eligible for tuition assistance?

  • Households with an annual income of less than $53,000. Larger families with higher incomes or families facing special circumstances may also be eligible.
  • Students receiving free or reduced lunch.

We recognize that 2020 is a particularly stressful year financially. Please contact us to request additional tuition assistance if needed, at 503.200.5858 or info@saturdayacademy.org.

How does Tuition Assistance work?

  • Step 1
  • Step 2
  • Step 3
Select from the following:

When you register for a class or camp, there is an option to access tuition assistance before payment based on your annual income and household size. After creating an account, confirming your household, and assigning your student(s) to class or classes, under the "Review & Financial Aid" tab there will be a little blue box in the right-hand corner. Click on the box.

Enter the number of household dependents and annual income. Then click "Calculate."

Your tuition assistance has been calculated! The calculator will give you the amount of tuition assistance offered to you and it is applied to your total. If you have any questions or need more information, do not hesitate to call us at 503-200-5858.

In addition to tuition assistance, we have discounts throughout the year based on grant and donor funding. Those include:

  • Bring a Friend - 20% off when you refer a friend - www.saturdayacademy.org/refer-a-friend
  • Vollum Vouchers - free classes or camps for Native American students in grades 5-12 provided by the Howard Vollum Foundation.
  • Coupon Codes - reduced tuition on specific classes or camps based on donor funding. Codes are distributed to families in need of assistance as funding is available.
  • Chinook Book coupons - discounts available in the annual Chinook Book.
