Alexis Thompson is a Portland-based art educator teaching K–5 students in the SUN program through Saturday Academy. She specializes in skill-based art instruction, breaking techniques down into easy, digestible steps that help students feel confident experimenting and creating.
Alexis believes art should be fun, process-driven, and accessible to all, and she encourages students to let go of perfectionism while building real creative skills. In addition to teaching youth, she also instructs adult art classes and enjoys exploring a wide range of artistic disciplines in her own practice. Watching kids light up when they try something new and seeing their confidence grow as they build skills, serves as a reminder for why this work matters.
