Esther Romero Stuart Dyer
Esther Romero, has been a STEM educator since 2000. She works with the MESA program at Ockley Green where she designed and implemented an after school robotics club. Esther can teach in English and Spanish.
Stuart recently received his PhD in biochemistry from Oregon Health & Science University, where he
examined the regulation of toxin production by cyanobacteria, and the broader impacts of toxin
production by cyanobacteria on freshwater ecology. This work led to a passion for stewardship of
aquatic resources, and, acting in his capacity as the American Society for Microbiology’s Ambassador of
Science to Oregon, Stuart regularly conducts habitat restoration events throughout the Willamette
watershed. When not analyzing Oregon’s lakes and rivers, Stuart can be found recreating in them.
