Medical Illustration (Online)

Bring hidden details to life!

Learn traditional Medical and Biological illustration techniques using graphite and pen/ink, including stippling, crosshatching, and line drawings. Through these techniques you'll explore the world through a different lens as you learn how to bring the smallest and even hidden details to the surface in your drawings. Then discover how these skills can benefit you as a creative career in many forms of illustration that interest you. 


Instructor Recommended Supplies:

  • 8 X 10 tracing paper
  • 2 Sheets of Duralar brand name- Frosted Mylar
  • 8 X 10 Drawing Paper Pad- Strathmore is a good brand but most will be fine
  • Micron Pen .005 and .01
  • White Plastic Eraser and a Kneaded Eraser
  • Drawing Pencils 2B , HB, 4H
  • Masking tape

 

Students will meet online using Zoom. A link along with any other class information will be emailed out to families prior to the class start.

Alice Hill received her BA from Marylhurst University and has many years of experience teaching art and scientific illustration. She showcases her work all over Oregon including Pacific NW College of Art.
