Koko Tanaka (she/her) is currently enrolled at the University of Portland, pursuing a major in Elementary Education. She is part of the 3+1 Pathway Program, which allows her to earn her BA in three years and her MA in Elementary Education in just one additional year. Koko is on track to earn her Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Portland in 2027.
Her passion for education and working with children has been a long-standing commitment. Since the 7th grade, she has dedicated her summers to volunteering in teacher-assisting roles in classrooms. Currently, she is gaining valuable field experience at Rosa Parks Elementary, an elementary school located in Portland, Oregon.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Koko also has a passion for cheerleading. Since 6th grade, she has been actively involved in cheerleading, regularly throwing people up in the air five times a week.
She is excited about the prospect of being part of the Saturday Academy, where she looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to teaching and making a positive impact on the children she works with.
