The Calendar Calculator is only useful in determining whether or not you can possibly participate in the program. All schedules are ultimately at the discretion of your ASE mentor. Some mentors have family vacations planned during the summer or need students to be available during specific times during the summer for research, which could include weekends, while most mentors prefer M-F. Most internship schedules allow for 2 weeks of vacation during the summer.
Internships CANNOT start before the end of the school year. Most start dates will be June 16th. Internships MUST be completed by August 22rd. For the majority of internships, students are expected to complete up to 300 hours, including ASE events. For part-time internships (indicated in online position description) the minimum number of hours is either 100 or 200 hrs.
The following dates are most likely not available for internship hours:
- June 19th - Many organizations, including Saturday Academy, are closed in observance of Juneteenth
- July 4th - Many organizations, including Saturday Academy, are closed in observance of Independence Day
