Maura Hand is originally from California and ended up falling in love with the Pacific Northwest while attending Linfield College in McMinnville. She graduated with a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish. While in college she enjoyed volunteering her time at the local elementary school, reading and creating one-on-one mentor relationships with the students. Her passion for creating educational opportunities and equity further ignited when she served in the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Facilitator in Peru. Recently, she worked in IT before returning to her passion for education and equity here at Saturday Academy. In her free time, she enjoys stepping outside of her comfort zone, drinking iced coffee, and is planning on running a marathon. Maura speaks Spanish.
