  • Opening Remarks and Recognition Ceremony
  • Key Note Speaker: Yasmeen Abutaleb, White House reporter for The Washington Post

About the Keynote Speaker:

Yasmeen Abutaleb is a White House reporter for The Washington Post. She has covered President Biden's response to the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the Democratic criticism that ensued; a range of stories on Biden's foreign policy; and the 2022 midterm elections as well as the run-up to Biden's decision to seek re-election in 2024. She has also covered both the Trump and Biden administration responses to covid-19 and was the co-author of the New York Times No. 1 bestseller, "Nightmare Scenario: Inside the Trump Administration's Response to the Pandemic that Changed History."

Yasmeen was one of the lead reporters on a 2020 series that documented Trump's missteps in handling the coronavirus and broke several stories related to the administration's response. She joined The Post in 2019 after more than five years at Reuters, where she covered the fight to repeal Obamacare and the intersection of politics and health care. Before that, she covered technology in San Francisco.

Yasmeen graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2014 with a dual degree in microbiology and journalism, where she served as the editor in chief of the student newspaper, The Diamondback.
