Our unique CREATORS series is designed to embrace specialization in a STEAM field-of-study! Each semester features a different theme that guides the connection between STEAM skills. Each series students have the opportunity to meet professionals in diverse career paths, explore important context, and activate key skills through project-based learning.

Winter Classes

Explore our Winter Classes for grades 6-8 at Saturday Academy! Middle schoolers can immerse themselves in Physics Investigations (6-8), exploring the fundamentals of physics and its connections to cutting-edge fields like quantum computing and nanotechnology. Or dive into the art of visual storytelling with Photojournalism (6-8), where students learn photography skills and photo narrative, combining hands-on shoots with remote writing exercises. Enroll now to spark your child’s love for STEAM this winter!

Physics Investigations | January 25 - March 15, 2025 | Saturdays 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Creators deepen their understanding of physics and its relationship to other science studies, which together create possibilities in the realms of quantum computing, data analytics, nanotechnology, and more. Dive into the world of physics and discover the countless careers and fields you could pursue!

Photojournalism | January 25 - March 15, 2025 | Saturdays 2:45pm - 4:15pm | **Hybrid

Step behind the lens to capture the captivating, thought-provoking, and challenging. This hybrid class explores the tools and techniques of photography, while inviting students to establish a perspective and craft a narrative and experience for viewers through photos. Engage in hands-on, in-person photography exploration, while tackling the writing portion of this class remotely. ** Hybrid dates announced two weeks prior to class with a portion occurring virtually and a portion occurring on-site.

Fall Classes

Discover our Fall Classes for grades 6-8 at Saturday Academy! Middle schoolers can immerse themselves in Dungeons & Dragons Investigations (6-8), a fantasy-focused class where storytelling meets STEAM challenges, or explore the basics of visual storytelling in Animation: The Fundamentals (6-8), learning about scriptwriting, storyboarding, and animation techniques.

Dungeons & Dragons Investigations | October 19 - December 14, 2024 | Saturdays 1:00pm - 2:30pm
NO CLASS ON 11/30

Creators devise stories and build worlds in this class dedicated to all things Dungeons & Dragons. With a focus on teamwork and exercising the imagination, this class offers an immersion into fantasy worlds full of epic pursuits and adventures. Students will enjoy gameplay while also tackling STEAM-driven challenges, utilizing the critical thinking and creativity that D&D demands.

Animation: The Fundamentals | October 19 - December 14, 2024 | Saturdays 2:45pm - 4:15pm
NO CLASS ON 11/30

In this class, students delve into the basics of animation and its relevant vocabulary, focusing on the processes of researching, scriptwriting, and storyboarding. From sketching and illustrating flipbooks to analyzing animated creations, creators engage in a wide array of skills required in the animation field. This class is offered as the first installment of an optional 3-part series that builds upon itself.
