Annika Lee (she/her) is a STEM youth educator from the Portland Metro. She has lived in Alabama for the past five years where she helped develop the University of Alabama Capture-the-Flag (UACTF) competition, a unique cybersecurity education program for middle and high school youth across the state of Alabama. In her free time, she is an avid competitor in cybersecurity competitions both nationally and internationally. She is a FIRST Robotics alum, mentor, and volunteer.
Outside of youth education, Annika is currently studying for two Master’s degrees, one in Cybersecurity and one in Library & Information Studies.
She advocates for making STEM curriculum fun for all. As she often says anecdotally, the most important part of any lesson is the moment that a student experiences a “spark” — when they realize that they can code games, they can design bridges, and they can build robots. And they discover they really enjoy doing it too!
Fun fact about Annika: she loves everything hedgehog and sloth themed!
