Grace Kurilo is joining Saturday Academy as a Summer Educator and is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University, where she majored in Bioengineering. During her time at Santa Clara, she participated in organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers and Biomedical Engineering Society. Grace is passionate about the intersection between medicine and engineering and will be continuing her studies at Santa Clara, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Bioengineering in the fall.
Aside from attending college in California, she has lived in Portland for her whole life and is happy to be home for the summer, working with Saturday Academy to share her love of science and engineering as an educator. Grace has experience with tutoring, STEM outreach, and engineering advising and is excited to bring these skills to being an educator. She is also very passionate about the arts, particularly music, and enjoys incorporating that passion into her personal and professional life.
Grace is looking forward to helping campers explore the opportunities of S.T.E.A.M. education this summer. Outside of her bioengineering classes, she loves singing and is even a member of an a cappella group in college. She also enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
