Kylee Kamikawa (she/her/hers) is a versatile operatic and musical theater singer, educator, and administrator dedicated to providing innovative educational opportunities for K-12 students and connecting with people through music storytelling. Kylee is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute of Music with a Master of Music degree and a Graduate Performance Diploma in vocal performance. She also received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Chapman University.
Community outreach is deeply ingrained in Kylee's personality and beliefs about how we interact with each other. Growing up in Portland, she prioritizes the awareness of Chinese American history, especially in the Old Town/Chinatown district, by creating musical events and engagement opportunities at the Portland Chinatown Museum. During her time in Baltimore, Maryland, Kylee engaged with Johns Hopkins University's Arts and Health music outreach programs and taught vocal masterclasses and lessons at the University of Maryland – Baltimore County.
Kylee is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and memorable events that foster student engagement and creativity. She hopes to learn and grow at Saturday Academy while also creating lasting memories for the community.
Kylee is also a lover of everything from opera productions to golden-age musical theater tunes. If you hear someone singing Carousel, that just might be Kylee.
