Applicants must have completed Advanced Placement biology coursework, or equivalent. Applicants for this position must be in 11th grade.
Applicants should have completed a year of chemistry (covering basic principles and laboratory techniques) by the start of the internship. Strong math and computer skills are also required. Please note, the intern will be required to complete a security/background check. Medical clearance may be required, and may take 3-5 days to process. If required, you will need to provide your personal health records. If you do not have up to date immunizations or cannot find documentation, you may receive medical services by OHSU at no cost to you. Students must be minimum age specified by June 16.
Basic understanding of using Microsoft software (excel, word, etc.); basic coursework in calculus, physics, and chemistry.
Applicants must live within 50 miles of Corvallis, OR to be considered. Essential job functions include ability to hike 5+ miles in rugged terrain carrying a 30-lb load and work in a bent-over/kneeling/sitting position for long periods of time. Outside work will require rain gear, sun gear, hiking boots and rubber boots (mentors may be able to provide some of this gear). Students must be minimum age specified by June 16. These age requirements are strictly enforced by the mentoring organization, and there are no exceptions.
Experience and interest in computing and security. Prior programming experience in Python and/or experience with high-school level security capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions are beneficial but not required.
Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and should have strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Windows and Microsoft Word/Excel is preferred. Students must be minimum age specified by June 16.
A nondisclosure agreement must be signed before work begins. There will be required training modules that can be completed during their first week of work at Nike.
The selected intern must wear lab-appropriate clothing (closed-toed shoes, long pants/skirts for full coverage), and must have reliable transportation.
