Basic understanding of using Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.); basic coursework in algebra, geometry, physics, and chemistry.

The selected intern must wear lab-appropriate clothing (closed-toed shoes, long pants/skirts for full coverage). Please note, the intern will be required to complete a security/background check. Medical clearance may be required, and may take 3-5 days to process. If required, you will need to provide your personal health records. Students must be minimum age specified by June 15.

If you do not have up to date immunizations or cannot find documentation, you may receive medical services by OHSU at no cost to you. Students must be minimum age specified by June 15.
The intern should have a high motivation to learn and participate in biological research, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team. Intern should support animal research for the advancement of scientific understanding and the improvement of human and non-human health and welfare. They should be able to lift around 10 lbs, stand at a lab bench for 30 minutes or more. Interest in environmental science, particularly human impacts on marine species and ecosystems.
Applicants should have a love and passion for children, with prior childcare experience - younger sibling caretaking counts! They should have access to their imagination, willingness to play, and interest in building connections for young learners to big worlds. Additionally, they should have the ability to lift 30 lbs, and be vaccinated for COVID-19.
This role requires someone with stamina and energy to give. Please note, the learning environments can be loud, so a high threshold for noise is needed. Candidates who thrive in roles that require flexibility and adaptation are invited to apply. Please note, camp will be taking place in NE Portland. Please consider your commute– noting a schedule of 8:30am-4:30pm.
