Audio Electronics Internship

The selected intern must wear lab-appropriate clothing (closed-toed shoes, long pants/skirts for full coverage). Please note, the intern will be required to complete a security/background check. Medical clearance may be required, for which you will need to provide your personal health records. If you do not have up to date immunizations or cannot find documentation, you may receive medical services by OHSU at no cost to you. Students must be minimum age specified by June 17.
Basic coursework and interest in biology, ability to stand for ~30 minutes at a time, ability to use hands to manipulate small objects, ability to use eyes to look through a microscope for ~30 minutes at a time, interest in developing public speaking skills, desire to work on a team with smart & empowered women in stem!

• Excitement to work independently & collaboratively with members of the lab. • A desire to gain confidence in public speaking and competency in the English language • Interest in biology and a growth mindset for difficult concepts (including reading scientific literature) • Ability to physically maneuver a lab space: use two eyes in a microscope, stand for at least 30 minutes, manipulate small objects with two hands, ability to lift ~15 pounds.
Programming experience in both scripting (Python or similar) and object-oriented (C++ or similar) languages is preferred.
This position requires a background check.
Significant experience in mathematics, whether it’s through advanced coursework, summer or extracurricular programs, or math competitions.
The student must be interested in magnets and interested in using 3-D printers. A willingness to learn or be able to use arduino programmable boards is a plus. Interested in building and working on magnetic prototype components. No experience needed but must have a strong motivation to self learn.
Should be comfortable with numbers, or at least willing to try! Knowledge of Microsoft word and Microsoft Excel; good written communication skills; familiarity with web research.
