Welcoming New Saturday Academy Board Members & Celebrating Our New Board Chair

By Emily Whitacre
Oct 16, 2019

We would like to welcome two new Saturday Academy board members, Kassim Ferris, and Ian Christy and celebrate our new board chair, Eileen Boerger!

Kassim Ferris joins Saturday Academy with a background in business law and engineering. He is currently a partner at Stoel Rives LLP specializing in intellectual property law and international trade regulation compliance. Kassim is a registered patent attorney and has experience protecting inventions in a wide range of technical fields. He serves on the firm's Coaching and Mentoring Committee and the Technical Advisory Group for the firm's information technology infrastructure.

Ian Christy brings legal expertise related to technology companies to Saturday Academy's board. Ian is a partner in the litigation department at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP. Ian received a BA in Political Science from Macalester College and a JD from Cornell Law School.

Congratulations to our new board chair, Eileen Boerger! Eileen has spent her over 40-year career in software development and services with experience in managing and starting up new software product and services for various high-tech companies.  In late 2017, after the sale of CorSource Technology, which Eileen was co-owner and CEO, she is devoting her time to her family and giving back to the community. Eileen is the current American Cancer Society (ACS) Area Board Chair for Oregon and SW Washington, and serves as an ACS Research Stakeholder. She serves on the advisory Board for The Dyrt, on the Board of Directors of TiE Oregon, a Board member for TechStart, and a member of the Engineering Dean’s Council at Portland State University.
