  • Who are Saturday Academy classes for?
Select from the following:

Approximately 10 to 14 days prior to the class start date, information about specific buildings and classroom numbers will appear in the (you must be signed in for link to work) Parent Dashboard of your Saturday Academy website account. Please check the dashboard frequently for the most current information about your class. Click here to get a overview of features in the Parent Dashboard.

We typically reserve classrooms at various schools, colleges and universities across the Portland-Metro area.

Find out more about how to register online or by mail. If you need additional help, contact our registrar at 503.200.5858.

Your dashboard provides all of the information you need for an upcoming class or internship. Parents, educators, ASE applicants and mentors with accounts will all have dashboard views in addition to household views.

If you are a parent or guardian registering your student(s) for classes, your Household view includes:

  • Household Contacts: These are the people (usually grown-ups) who manage the account for students participating in classes or camps and pay for enrollment. There is the option to provide a primary contact and a secondary contact.
  • Students: These are the people (usually kids) who attend classes and camps. Each student listed under your household includes their date of birth, current school, medical and media releases, emergency contact and any special needs.

The PARENT DASHBOARD includes:

  • Class information: Building and classroom locations and any additional information about upcoming classes.
  • Find our more about your dashboard.

If you are a student applying for or participating in an ASE internship, your Household view includes:

  • Application information: This is your application and the internships for which you have applied and ranked.

The STUDENT DASHBOARD includes:

  • Updates: The status of your application, such as whether a recommendation has been received, or if you've been accepted into an internship.

If you are an instructor, your Household view includes:

  • Your information: This is your Household Account and includes all of your contact information.

The INSTRUCTOR DASHBOARD includes:

  • Class information: Building and classroom locations and any additional information about upcoming classes.

If you are an mentor, your Household view includes:

  • Your information: This is your Household Account and includes all of your contact information.

The MENTOR DASHBOARD includes:

  • Potential intern information: This includes a list of the interns applying for your apprenticeship opportunity and their applications, as well as your rankings of each intern applicant.

Note that if you are both a parent and an instructor or a mentor, you will need a unique email address and dashboard for each role.

Ideally, items left behind in classrooms will be found by instructors and returned to the Saturday Academy main office. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee this. If we do receive lost items, they will be held in the main office for 30 days. Please contact us to see if we have your lost item.

As a rule, our all-day classes and camps do not provide lunch. If your child will be attending an all-day class or camp, please provide your child with a peanut-free lunch. Students may not leave the class site to purchase a lunch.

Saturday Academy is a peanut-free zone.

Please contact us at 503.200.5858 with questions about accommodations and accessibility and we will do our best to support your student. Our classroom locations are ADA accessible.

For ongoing, COVID-19 updates and our summer camp safety protocols see: https://www.saturdayacademy.org/covid19-virus-statement

Saturday Academy classes are for students in Grades K-12, and best serve students who may need extra support in a class topic, an extra challenge, or simply something fun to engage in outside of school. Classes are focused on Science,Tech, Engineering, Arts & Math themes and are project-based and curiosity driven.  SA Instructors are passionate about their subject-areas, and are trained in culturally responsive and trauma-informed teaching. In short, SA is led by nerds and our classes inspire every kid to find their inner nerd too!

While cancellations on our part are a rare occurrence, they do happen occasionally. We do everything that we can to avoid it, but at times we must make the hard decision to cancel a class. If Saturday Academy cancels a class and cannot reschedule, every effort will be made to find an alternative camp or class for your student that works with your schedule. In the event that this is not possible, you will be offered a full refund of the tuition paid. Families would be notified of a cancellation no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of a program.

Cancellations on the part of Saturday Academy are generally due to the following:

Weather
If a camp or class is canceled due to weather, we make every effort to reschedule. We do not issue refunds for a change in program due to weather if we are able to reschedule the class.

Educator illness or emergency
In this case, we do our best to find a replacement educator or reschedule the class before canceling.

Low-Enrollment
As a nonprofit, we need a minimum number of total enrollments in each camp or class in order to run. This ensures a quality experience for students and educators as well as financial viability. If these minimums are not reached, we may need to cancel.  Families will be notified two weeks prior to the start date in the event of a cancelation. Please help us to avoid low enrollment cancellations by encouraging folks you know to sign up for programming too!

If you have any questions or concerns about cancellations, please contact us at 503-200-5858 or email us at info@saturdayacademy.org

AFFORDABLE ACCESS

We are committed to removing barriers of access to innovative hands-on learning.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Tuition assistance is available on a sliding scale based on household income and family size and available to any family with a household income of $150,000 or less. There is no application.

Scholarship Support is also available and processed on a rolling basis with consideration of need demonstrated.  We invite you to register your student for the Summer Camps and Classes you are interested in and assess the Tuition Assistance provided. If additional need is warranted, we invite you to complete the Scholarship Application.

SUMMER CAMP DISCOUNT CODES:

Specific rebate codes can be shared as they relate to the University of Portland Staff and Faculty at check-out for Summer Camp that ensure a 20% rebate for the camp experience.

This is processed as a check within 2 weeks of the purchase.

We ask that you register your child for programming designated for their grade level. This will ensure your child, as well as other program participants, have the best possible experience. If you are seeking a grade level exception, please mark the designated box during registration and contact Saturday Academy staff for more information via registration@saturdayacademy.org

Please Note: The grade levels listed for summer programming refers to the grade a student will be entering in the upcoming school year. For programming during the school calendar year (September-early June), the grade level listed refers to the student's current grade.
