Dr Cheng works across the World Wildlife Fund and with external organizations to advance evidence-informed practice in conservation programs. She has extensive experience evaluating the impact of conservation on ecological and social outcomes and identifying key insights to guide policy, practice, and research.

Matt is committed to solving sustainability issues across the energy landscape using engineering and economics. With a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University, Matt spent ten years in sales and leadership at General Electric before joining sustainable technology startup 7AC as Chief Marketing Officer. After 7AC was acquired by Emerson, Matt co-founded Alaska Renewables to harness the vast potential of renewables to deliver a transformative, clean, sustainable, reliable, and cost-reducing energy supply for Alaska.

ASE Lunch and Learn - Kyle Graycar, Decarbon

Kyle Graycar started Decarbon in 2020 out of his own desire to understand his impact on climate change and what he could do about it. He firmly believes that awareness and education are essential to unlocking progress on the climate crisis. Kyle grew up in San Francisco and fell in love with nature on family hiking trips to Lake Tahoe. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Environmental Science, Kyle has worked as a product marketer for mission-driven clean tech and ed tech startups.

ASE Lunch and Learn - Dr. Elise Granek, Applied Coastal Ecology Lab, PSU

The Applied Coastal Ecology (ACE) lab conducts collaborative research and outreach focused on the transition zone between land and sea. They examine biotic and abiotic processes and underlying cross-habitat interactions, such as those between terrestrial watersheds, mangrove forests, subtidal rocky habitat, and coral reefs. Dr. Granek will be joined by graduate students and fellow ASE mentors Paul Hurst, Geoff Szafranski, and Allie Tissot to discuss the many paths towards becoming a marine ecologist.
